The race to replace Governor Jim Doyle is heating up. Sunday, U.S. Representative Mark Green officially kicked off his campaign.

Green will face Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker in a Republican primary. The winner will take on Governor Doyle in September 2006.

From his hometown of Ashwaubenon, Green attacked the Governor regarding conservative stronghold issues, such as gay marriage and cutting taxes.

"I make this pledge to you. Elect me as your governor and Wisconsin's tax burden will improve or I won't run for reelection. I'll keep my promise or step aside for someone who can," says Green.

The 44-year-old Green served in the state Assembly for eight years before winning a Congressional seat in 1998.
