Looking for Greener Pastures

Video will be available shortly.

"With the right leadership, I believe with all of my heart that we can make Wisconsin great once again." U.S. 8th district congressman Mark Green made that comment today in Madison, as he kicked off a statewide tour to tell voters why he wants to give up his current job, in or to be your next Governor.

Green becomes the second Republican to announce his intentions to unseat Governor Jim Doyle, making it official Sunday. Monday, he went before reporters inside the state capitol in Madison.

He says the reason he's running is simple. Green says Governor Doyle has focused on short term fixes and what he calls “false shortcuts”.

"Under Governor Doyle, taxes are up, spending is up, borrowing is up, debt is up, tuition is up, fees are up, and for lots of folks, it seems hope is on the way down," Green says.

Green is the second republican to announce he's running for Governor.
Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker is also seeking the state's top political job.
