A Pine Bluff strip club is getting ready for a legal fight. The Town of Cross Plains filed a lawsuit Monday against Hot Rods Strip Club.

The lawsuit contends that Hot Rods - formerly known as Kitts Korner - is not a valid adult entertainment club.

The town alleges that Hot Rods business partners hastily organized dancers from another club and offered only a few hours of adult entertainment, just days before a new county ordinance was signed limiting such establishments.

Hot Rods owners say their business is a valid, non–conforming use under state law, but the town of Cross Plains contends its primary use was as a sports venue - not a strip club.

"There's no dispute that the tavern was an ongoing and permanent use of property, but the building in question and the venue in question wasn't an adult entertainment tavern, or as they're calling it, a show lounge. It was a volleyball court," says Atty. Mark Hazelbaker, representing Town of Cross Plains.

Hot Rods has 45 days to answer the complaint.
