Buckling Down on Buckling Up?

Failing to wear a seat belt in the future, could get you pulled over and ticketed.

A bill currently in the state assembly would allow law enforcement to pull over a motorist specifically for a safety belt violation.

Right now, a driver can only be ticketed for not wearing a seat belt if they are pulled over for something else.

The proposed law would also raise the fine for a first offense from $10 to $50. Those who continue to not wear seat belts could be fined up to $75 for repeat violations.
