Families affect by the huge blaze in Adams County won't be getting any aid from the federal government.

Officials say the damage caused by the Cottonville fire is not enough to qualify for federal disaster aid.

The fire destroyed 20 permanent and seasonal homes, and damaged 15 more. But the U.S. Government requires at least 50 primary homes suffer damage before becoming eligible for aid.

Most homeowners should be covered under their insurance. And Governor Doyle is asking state agencies to make funding available for temporary housing assistance.
