One Mifflin Street resident is upset over the large fines he's received from Madison Police, so he started a website and is trying to garner support from others as he challenges the citations.
Derek Yadgaroff says police issued $7,000 in tickets to members of his household for violations committed during last weekend's Mifflin Street Block Party.
Yadgaroff says, during the party police told the roomates they weren't doing anything wrong. But he says police returned to issue tickets later in the week.
Now he's trying to team–up with other residents who received fines, in an effort to get their tickets thrown out or reduced.
He says police went to liquor stores to find out which houses had ordered kegs of beer, and targeted those houses.
"I personally don't feel that I'm guilty of anything that they wrote. If you read the emails pretty much the response is that everyone feels the cops handled this way out of hand," says Yadgaroff.
Yadgaroff says people from a few other houses will be meeting with their local alderman to determine what action to take.
