Rock County authorities say an inmate who died in January of a drug overdose had been taking drugs smuggled into the jail by other inmates.
Anthony Michael Ray, 27, of Eastman, Wisconsin died January 27th. After an investigation, the Rock County Sheriff's Department and Dane County Coroner's Office found two inmates had been smuggling drugs into the jail.
Frank Perez, of Beloit and Lucas Gardner, of Janesville, both 20, now face additional charges. They are being held for first–degree reckless homicide, delivery of heroin, and delivery of cocaine.
