Body Found in Lake Mendota
The Dane County Sheriff's Department is investigating a body found in Lake Mendota Saturday night.
Deputies responded to Governor Nelson State Park in the town of Westport at about 7 p.m. The body was spotted by a boater out on the lake.
The body has been tentatively identified as Mitchell S. Pease from Madison. Pease has been missing since October 28, 2004 and was presumed drowned in Lake Mendota.
Authorities are waiting for the coroner's report to positively identify the body and determine the cause of death.
