Med flight is getting a new pad. UW Hospital is moving operations to a centralized location. The roof.
Med flight is currently scattered around the hospital in terms of offices and call space. But not for long. The new location will have virtually no obstructions to the flight path. Trees, power lines, and vehicle traffic will no longer be a problem thanks to the relocation.
There will be two pads for the aircraft to land and take off. Med flight program director Mark Hanson says this will lead to a faster response.
"The quicker that we can respond, the quicker we can get to the patients."
The estimated cost for this project is between 7 and 8 million dollars.
This space is expected to be occupied by November.
