Columbia County authorities say a man who drove off the Merrimac Ferry landing and into Lake Wisconsin was drunk at the time.
It happened about 2:15 Friday morning. The Columbia County Sheriff's department says the ferry operator saw a man drive his car into the lake.
Both people in the car were able to get out of the car safely.
The driver, Everado Trinidad, of Waunakee, was cited for drunk driving.
