About 50 residents turned out to hear representatives of both the town and the adult entertainment club, Hot Rods, present their case to the board Monday night.

The meeting surrounds a complaint filed by a town resident. The board met for a judicial hearing to decide whether to revoke the bars liquor license.

The town's attorney, Mark Hazelbaker, says because there was a change in operation from Kit Kalscheur to Jerry Wood and other partners including Edgerton native, Rich Bickle, Wood should have applied for a license transfer.

But Jeff Olson, who represents the establishment and Wood, argues because it is a corporation and Kalscheur still legally has authority of the liquor sales as an agent, a transfer was not necessary.

The prosecution's primary witness was an investigator for the Department of Revenue, who wishes to remain anonymous because of other ongoing investigations. The defense quickly tried to discredit his testimony.

"Bickle stated to me on this date that Kalscheur had little if any involvement with the actual affairs of the business, " says the investigator while being questioned by Hazelbaker, "Bickle went on to state that Kalscheur sits around and does nothing."

During cross-examination, Olson asks, "Did you, when you spoke to Mr. Bickle, ascertain at all how much time he actually spent at the business?"

"No, I did not," replies the investigator.

"Did you ascertain how much time he spent in the state of Wisconsin?" continues Olson.

"No, I did not," relies the investigator.

The owners of Hot Rods cannot reapply for a liquor license for 12 months.
