Some of the area's high school graduates received a lesson in persistence, as they gathered their degrees.

Graduates of Jefferson High School took part in a modified commencement ceremony Sunday, filing through the school's gymnasium, instead of the auditorium.

Saturday's severe storms and strong winds reportedly blew off a 20 foot piece of the auditorium roof, forcing the move.

Attendees of Sunday's event say it was a muggy one. "We got some good administrators here that really took charge and changed the situation for us—it's gonna be little bit hot—but I think we'll get through it," says graduate Nick Kline.

"I think it's going to be a memory. We even had some of them come yesterday, after the storm and pick of pieces of insulation off the roof and taking it home for their scrapbooks," says principal Richard Lovett.

Elsewhere in Jefferson County, power has been restored in roughly 660 households following outages which affected parts of Watertown and Fort Atkinson.
