A judge in Madison refuses to throw out felony charges against former state senator Brian Burke in the newest development in his illegal campaigning case.
Dane County Circuit Judge William Foust rejected an application from Burke's attorney. The application said the charges against Burke didn't fall within the scope of a secret investigation into illegal campaigning at the state capitol.
Burke faces 13 felonies including misconduct in office and destroying evidence.
