Are you a hearty, law-abiding and physically fit nature lover?
Then the state Department of Natural Resources may have a job for you.
Warden Training Director Darrel Waldera says there are 28 warden openings -- double the usual number.
That's posing challenges for the remaining wardens -- there are only 206 full-time warden positions in the state. Northern Region warden Supervisor Mike Bartz in Spooner says there's only one warden for every 14,000 licensed hunters and fishers.
The openings are blamed on a large number of retirements, as well as budget cuts that have limited hires in the last few years.
