Wisconsin Campers Want More "Power"

There are more than five and a-half thousand campsites available in state parks and forests across Wisconsin. Less that a fifth of those have electrical hookups.

State parks system planner Jeff Prey says half of those using
the parks have campers, pop-ups or trailers. Prey says campers want
more electricity.

But that would take a change of state law. Currently no more
than 25 percent of campsites can have electrical receptacles.

Prey says a bill pending in the state Legislature would increase
that figure to 30 percent.

Lake Wissota state park director Allen Middendorp says more and
more baby boomer don't want to sleep on the ground.
