Man Leads MPD on High Speed Chase

Video will be available shortly.

A man wanted on several felony warrants is in custody after leading Madison police on a high speed chase.

Authorities tell NBC 15 they had been looking for 34-year-old Cornell Clark for several months.

Police knew the car he had been driving, and an officer spotted it around 7:30 Tuesday night near Broadway and Hoboken.

That's when Clark led police on a high speed chase on the beltline.

"When the officers attempted to pull Cornell Clark over in his vehicle, he then took off down the beltline speeds went up to about 90 miles an hours," says Sgt. Sgt. Linda Kosovac from the Madison Police Department.

Officers laid out spikes in several locations. The chase ended near Monona Drive.

Clark is in custody for allegedly eluding arrest and for outstanding warrants. Police also say they found what appears to be a small amount of drugs in his car.

There was also a passenger in the vehicle, and we are told that person is cooperating with police.

Authorities tell us no accidents resulted from the chase.
