Wisconsin Hosts Water World

Water scientists from around the world are in Wisconsin.

Water managers from China, Uganda, Turkey, Peru, Afghanistan and other countries are on a two-week tour of Wisconsin waterways.

Water experts from U-W Stevens Point are again hosting the annual International Watersheds Management Program to talk about clean water policies and practices.

In Wisconsin, the visitors are learning about Wisconsin's challenges, including storm water runoff near urban areas, agricultural waste problems and industrial issues near the Fox River.

Stevens Point's Global Environmental Management Education Center has hosted visits from about 60 foreigners in the past years.

Many of the visiting scientists are government officials, but some come from the private sector.
