A Baraboo man pleaded no contest Tuesday to murdering a Nebraska woman in Middleton late last year.
Maurice Mason also pleaded no contest to kidnapping, possession of a short barreled shotgun and a felony firearm charge. A charge of sexual assault was dropped.
Mason and another man, Bennie Frier, were suspects in a crime spree last fall that included the killings of a Baraboo man and a Nebraska woman. They were also suspected of kidnapping a Mauston man.
Last week, Bennie Frier pleaded no contest to a series of charges stemming from the three-county crime spree including second degree sexual assault, first degree reckless homicide, kidnapping and reckless injury.
