A 17-year-old is recovering from serious injuries after a boating accident on Lake Mendota Thursday afternoon.
The Dane County Sheriff's Department says the teen apparently forgot to pull in the boat's anchor, and it flew out of the water and hit him in the head when he started driving the boat.
The victim was taken to UW Hospital.
