Some area seniors get into the game at Madison's Warner Park Sunday.

Between 300 and 400 baseball fans over age 60 were expected to attend Sunday afternoon's Madison Mallards baseball game, as they took part in Saint Marys Senior Sundays.

The event offered seniors free admission to the game, along with their very own seat cushions.

It is sponsored by Saint Marys Golden Care — a program which provides seniors with health information, offers social activities, and promotes healthy lifestyles.

"I haven't been out here yet, so I wanted to get to a ballgame, but then when Saint Mary's is a sponsor, it made me come on board," says baseball fan Lee Tveden.

"I think this is just another way to encourage seniors to be active and involved in the community and give them opportunities to be out and about and enjoying life in the Madison–area," says Frank Byrne, M.D., president of St. Marys Hospital.

Fans age 60 and older will receive 2–for–1 tickets to the rest of the Mallards' Sunday home games.
