Last week, a toddler died after being left inside a hot van all day. Luckily, that wasn't the case Monday, as Madison firefighters responded to two incidents of small children locked inside cars.
Crews responded to University Avenue, after a mother accidentally locked her child inside a car. A locksmith was called to open the doors.
Crews were also called to Westgate Mall Monday afternoon after a witness saw a toddler alone inside a locked car. Authorities say the child was sweating, but conscious.
Firefighters broke a window to free the girl, when they couldn't find a parent.
