Residents of our area -- and other parts of the state -- are encouraged to clean–up their acts Monday in an effort to help keep the air clean.
The Dane County Clean Air Coalition pegs Monday as the area's first "Clean Air Action Day" for the 2005 summer season.
This means Monday's ozone could reach an unhealthy level, especially for children, older adults, and those who suffer from asthma.
People are asked to avoid using cars, limit the use of air–conditioning, and to burn gas during the evening hours.
Meanwhile, Southeastern Wisconsin is calling Monday "Ozone Action Day", encouraging residents to take similar actions in response to continuing heat, coupled with a build–up of pollutants.
