Downtown Oregon may soon be getting a makeover.

State Representative Brett Davis is pushing for a streetscaping project for the downtown area. The proposal calls for new street lights and structural changes for Main and Janesville Streets.

A grant of more than $600,000 is needed for the project.

"Oregon is at the cuff of big change and economic development and they just needed a spark and this grant was what I believe is going to help that and I'm excited about that and that's really why I'm going to do that, create more jobs in the area," says Rep. Davis.

The bill passed the Assembly last week, and must now be approved by the State Senate and Governor Doyle.
