Power is back on to thousands of residents in the Madison area after an outage this morning.
The power went out at 8:30 to an area south of the Beltline between Fish Hatchery Road and South Towne Drive.
The 7,000 homes affected were in Madison, Monona, and Fitchburg. We're told the problem originated at an American Transmission Company line.
Power was re–routed to another substation about a half hour after the outage.
