An Appleton home improvement contractor is accused of stealing 140-thousand dollars from elderly customers by using his charm and preaching Christianity.
Fifty-nine-year-old Timothy Loritz is charged with contractor
fraud. Prosecutors say more charges could be filed as the result of
complaints in Kaukauna, Grand Chute and Kimberly.
So far, the Outagamie County district attorney says he's
documented 22 people who've been scammed. One retired man says he paid Loritz 32-thousand dollars toward a 60-thousand dollar remodeling project and no work was ever done.
The complaints say Loritz operated under the names of Tim's
Quality Home Restoration and Tim's Quality Home Repair.
A check of state court records show 44 cases in which Loritz was
involved in lawsuits, criminal charges, tax warrants and small
claims.
