For 25 years he risked his life as a Janesville firefighter. Now, just months after his retirement, he dies on a Colorado mountainside.
54-year-old Larry Schlichting suffered an apparent heart attack on Quandary Mountain, near Breckenridge. The Summit County, Colorado coroner says Schlichting died as he was coming down the 14,000 foot mountain.
The former fire captain retired from the Janesville Fire Department earlier this year.
