The jury in the trial of the Minnesota man accused of fatally shooting six hunters in northern Wisconsin will be picked in Dane County.
A Sawyer County circuit judge made the ruling Thursday, siding with attorneys for 36-year-old Chai Vang.
His attorneys argued that publicity and racial tensions in northwest Wisconsin would make it hard for him to get a fair trial.
Vang is accused of killing six hunters and wounding two others during a hunting confrontation last November. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges against him.
The trial is set to start on September 12 in Sawyer County.
