It has been nearly one week since two 25 year old men went for a boat ride on Lake Mendota and never came home.
After getting a new tip from someone, the Dane County Sheriff's Department is now looking in an area about a mile and a half wide and four miles long, from Warner Park shore past Spring Harbor.
A witness said they saw an unoccupied boat drifting toward the Middleton shoreline.
And deputies say they need more help.
“Boaters just need to be aware that we're looking for two individuals,” says Sgt. David Ritter of the Dane County Sheriff’s Department. “If they were to find them they should call us and stay somewhere in the vicinity so we can have a better response.”
Sergeant Ritter says the Sheriff's Department has no plans to end the search.
