There could be some new twists and turns during your commute with the next phase of Highway 12 construction starting in Middleton.
For the next couple of days, traffic on highway 12 in Middleton is being re-routed and detoured so crews can continue with road construction. The westbound off-ramp to University Avenue and the Westbound ramp that is used to access the business areas will be closed for a period of time during the construction.
The projects development engineer for the Department of Transportation, Curt Neuhauser, says, "The main access point to the Middleton business on the old highway 12 will be the Airport Road interchange and that's where we're directing people to access the business district."
Message boards with the most current information will be used through out the project to help guide motorists through the maze. The construction crew reminds motorists to read the text messages on the message boards and follow those warnings to reach their destination.
