The spotlight is on Madison this week. Wildlife experts are here from around the world to talk about chronic wasting disease.

This is the second international CWD symposium for researchers and wildlife managers.

CWD has been found in 10 states and a province in Canada. It was first discovered in Wisconsin in 2002. And since then, our state has taken the lead in aggressively trying to wipe out the disease.

"I think a lot of this research is bleeding edge type research. And the Wisconsin department of natural resources will take home the best science that's available out there," says Bryan Richards, USGA CWD director.

The CWD conference goes through Thursday.
