A local health group uses the Green Bay Packers to promote its fitness plan to area children.
Today was Autographs for Action at the Henry Vilas Zoo. Physicians Plus promoted fitness and active lifestyles by having children hula-hoop, or engage in other physical activities in exchange for autographs.
Coordinator Kathryne Auerback says the Pack provides the perfect incentive for fitness. "The packers are great role models for being fit and healthy and the kids love them so we love to bring them out because they're inspirational for the kids in our community and help us draw attention to the problem of childhood obesity, which is really what this campaign is about."
The event was part of the GO, or Get Out, campaign.
Kids can get a passport containing a list of activities by visiting www.pplusic.com or by calling 1-866-GO GET OUT.
