On your marks get set go, water sports enthusiasts take the plunge during Saturday's Paddle and Portage event in Madison.
Participants row through lakes Mendota and Monona and in between the lakes they are forced to portage their canoe across land.
Hundreds of participants show up for the yearly event, but one canoe team features a special member, the family dog Mango. Laurie Beth Clark says, "when she was younger it was pretty hairy because she used to run back and forth in the boat while we were paddling and now she's a little older so she sits still more of the time, the main thing with her is explaining that its more fun to be in the boat than in the water."
Clark tells NBC15 her dog Mango is 11 years old, adding she has been participating in Paddle and Portage since she was two.
