DNA evidence solves a sexual assault from more than three years ago and sends a man to jail for life.
Julio Malendez-Valladares will spend 65 years behind bars for the December 2001 assault on East Johnson Street. Authorities linked him to the DNA evidence while he was serving time for a similar crime in Indiana. In 2017, when his sentence is completed there, he'll serve his sentence in Wisconsin. He'll then be handed over to federal authorities for being a repeat, illegal-alien offender.
