Meth lab found in trash prompts call to hazardous materials team
POTOSI TOWNSHIP, Wis. (AP) -- Authorities say someone doing spring cleaning in a ditch line near their home in Potosi Township found remnants of a meth lab in garbage bags.
The Grant County Sheriff's Department says a caller reported finding suspicious items in garbage bags.
Authorities from the tri-county Richland-Iowa-Grant Drug Task Force confirmed on Sunday that the trash was remains from a methamphetamine lab.
The task force says a hazardous materials team was sent to safely remove the items.
Authorities say people should be cautious when they're doing spring cleaning. They say meth lab residue can be toxic and a health hazard.
