Firefighters working on the tire plant fire in Watertown are taking a new approach to extinguishing the blaze, they are bringing in foam.
The fire broke out two days ago in hundreds of thousands of old tires and piles of partially processed chips made from tires. Officials have shipped a special agent from Georgia that can be applied to the fire and cause it to cool down faster.
Jefferson County Emergency Management tells NBC15 the city's water pressure level is low because tankers need to be refilled with water so frequently.
In all 57 fire crews, 45 tankers and 125 firefighters from nine surrounding counties have offered support.
