We now know the name of the man killed in Wednesday’s motorcycle crash.
Fitchburg Police found 49-year-old James Hammer Jr. of Madison dead at the scene. Hammer was a passenger on the motorcycle driven by 35-year-old Daniel Banks. Banks fled the scene after the crash.
Police captured Banks and took him to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
He is currently being held for a probation warrant unrelated to the accident.
