Contaminated WI Beaches
Wisconsin's beaches are not as clean as you may think.
A recent study found water samples from around Wisconsin are more contaminated when compared than other Great Lakes states.
The National Resources Defense Council used data from the EPA for the study. They found that six Wisconsin counties had some of the highest bacteria counts among the six states studied. That includes Point Beach State Park in Manitowoc County where the contamination level is ten times the acceptable limit.
