Stoughton Residents Reclaim Pieces of Their Lives

Print

Residents in Stoughton are reclaiming *their lives after last month's tornado.

For the past two weeks, the Stoughton Fire Department has been collecting letters, pictures and other possessions. Saturday, the department opened its doors to tornado victims so they could look for their belongings.

A Stoughton couple that lost their home say they've recovered few of their possessions.

Audrey Hermanson says, "I found a bracelet that my granddaughter made me. That's about all I found... Yes, I am disappointed that we haven't found more things here, but I guess we have to count it lost and we have to accept that its gone."

The Hermansons say even though the recovery has been difficult, the help and generosity of volunteers have really touched their hearts.

The Stoughton Fire Department will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for at least the remainder of the week for people to search through the lost and found.
