Assembly Speaker John Gard officially throws his hat in the ring for a Wisconsin Congress seat.
Gard is the first Republican to officially enter the race to represent northeastern Wisconsin. The 42-year-old wants to replace Republican U.S. Representative Mark Green who is leaving his seat for at the eighth congressional district seat to run for governor in 2006.
Gard was first elected to the state Assembly in 1987.
