I think people are forgetting that there is a killer amongst us. So take appropriate action and do not allow yourself to become a victim. This girl was lucky in this situaton, but she was also very stupid. Lets be smarter then that people!

I agree with C......if your out alone at 2am, there is a good change you'll encounter a problem. She sure was not using her thinking cap. If you must be out do so in a group.

I agree...NOBODY should be out alone at 2:00 a.m. Hasn't everybody learned something yet? One is asking for trouble to do something SO stupid.

sorry to offend you Eddie. I'm not blaming her, I'm just saying she made a poor choice. I'm a woman and there's no way I'd be out walking alone in Madison in the middle of the night, irregardless of the recent murders. It's just not good common sense. I'm glad she was able to fight back, but I hope she has second thoughts about doing it again. She was lucky this time.

No one should be out alone at 2am unless being excorted to their car to get home from a job. Maybe schools should be providing self defense classes to students.

C, how about you address the idiots committing crimes and quit blaming the victims. Women are people too.

Glad she's okay, and sorry the criminal is still on the prowl. Atwood Avenue isn't a good place to walk alone. But good for her for protecting herself and for getting away unharmed. That is what it's all about - protect yourself from harm.
