Wildlife Rehab Center Opens Save Email Print

Wildlife in need of a tender touch have a helping hand in Madison. Volunteers care for ill, injured and orphaned animals at Four Lakes Wildlife Center. Last year, staff say the center took in almost 750 animals. This year, Four Lakes already has about 40 animals, including birds, squirrels and bunnies. The goal is to nurse the animals for a return to their natural habitat. Anyone can volunteer, or help the center in other ways.
"We have a brand new squirrel cage, we need nest boxes. If someone has carpentry skills, you could build us nest boxes," Kristen Anchor says.
The center is open 14 hours a day, seven days a week. It's closed to the public to avoid too much interaction with the animals, but anyone can bring in an animal.
You can learn more about the rehab center and how to help by visiting its website.
