Madison, WI. – The Dane County Sheriff’s Office is releasing a suspect composite sketch in the town of Cottage Grove home invasion that occurred over the weekend.

At approximately 1:39 am on Saturday May 17th, Dane County Deputies and Cottage Grove Police responded to 3737 County Highway AB, where a lone gunman had entered a second floor residence and assaulted two people. A 63-year-old male and a 55-year-old female had been pistol-whipped by the assailant. Both victims were transported to a local hospital and treated for significant, but non-life threatening injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male in his mid to late twenties, approximately 5’8” to 5’11” tall, with an athletic to muscular build and brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing on the night of the incident.

At approximately 1:39 am, Dane County Sheriff's Office Deputies responded with a Cottage Grove Police Officer to 3737 County Highway AB in the Town of Cottage Grove for a reported home invasion. Responding officers received information of a lone gunman entering the apartment located above this address and assaulting two residents.

First arriving units found a 63-year-old male and a 55-year-old female who had been pistol-whipped by the assailant. Both individuals were transported to a local hospital and treated for significant, but non-life threatening, head injuries.

The suspect is described as a white male, 5'06" to 6'00" tall, clean shaven, with a stocky build. The suspect was dressed all in black clothing and may have had on a hooded sweat shirt.

The Dane County Sheriff's Office is investigating this crime at the request of the Cottage Grove Police Department. Dane County Sheriff's Office Detectives and Crime Scene personnel were called in to assist with the investigation.
