According to a news release:

MADISON, Wis. — The State Bank of Cross Plains and the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA) are offering a joint reward of up to $10,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the bank robberies in Middleton, Wisconsin.

The State Bank of Cross Plains branches in Middleton were robbed on April 11, 2008 and May 7, 2008. The bank and the WBA are working in conjunction with the Middleton Police Department to apprehend the person(s) responsible.

Photos of the suspect taken from the bank video are available on the State Bank of Cross Plain’s Web site at www.crossplainsbank.com/a_press.htm.

The suspect is described as a white male, early 20’s, approximately 5’5”-5’8”, slim, wearing a dark knit hat with a brim, sun glasses, long sleeve shirt, jeans and brown shoes. The suspect may also be connected with a robbery on March 19, 2008 at Amcore Bank – Odana Road, Madison, WI.

If you have information about these bank robberies, please call Crime Stoppers at 266-6014. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may be eligible for an additional cash reward of up to $1000.

The WBA established its Robbery Reward Fund in 1995. The fund provides rewards to individuals who identify anyone wanted in connection with a bank robbery or other crime committed at a bank location, including automatic teller machine (ATM) sites if that information leads to the arrest and conviction of the individuals responsible for the robbery.

The State Bank of Cross Plains and WBA reminds would-be criminals that it is a federal crime to rob a federally insured depository institution and that 90 percent of all bank robbers are caught.
