UPDATE: Friday, June 13, 2008 --- 10:50 a.m.

A 49 year old Windsor woman has died at U.W. hospital from injuries sustained in Monday's house fire and explosion. Judith Merry, 7636 Grinde Road, passed away on June 12th. She had been transported from the fire scene to the hospital by Med-Flight helicopter. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

The woman injured in yesterday’s house explosion in the town of Windsor is Judith A. Merry. She remains at UW Hospital in critical condition. Dane County Sheriff’s detectives continue to investigate the cause of the explosion.

Monday, June 9, 2008 --- 5:40 p.m.

MADISON – At approximately 2:30 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Deforest Fire Department & EMS, Sun Prairie Fire Department & EMS, Arlington Fire Department and the Waunakee Fire Department responded to a house explosion at 7636 Grinde Road in the town of Windsor.

The sole occupant, a 58 year-old female, received serious injuries and was transported by Med Flight to UW Hospital. Based on the seriousness of her injuries, her name is currently being withheld.

The extent of the damage and the cause of the explosion are currently under investigation.

What a sad story. I live near there and saw the home and it looks awful. Does anyone know if she owned the horse located behind the house? If so, is someone taking care of the horse?

My sister and her husband built that home 20 years ago. It is in the Town of Windsor with a DeForest Address

Actually it IS in the Town of Windsor according to DCI maps and Access Dane.
