An armed robbery at a local pharmacy has police asking for your help this Tuesday.

It's the latest in a string of robberies aimed at large quantities of drugs.

Pharmacies across the area are on alert after police say a man robbed an Oregon pharmacy of its entire supply of the popular pain killer, OxyContin.

The robbery happened Monday, just before 8 a.m. at the Oregon Pharmacy on Main Street in Oregon.

Police say the suspect rang the bell to the back door before the store was open and forced his way in.

He then ordered the clerk to give him all of the OxyContin in the store, tied her up and fled.

Officers say they have put the information out statewide and in northern Illinois.

"So that all law enforcement agencies have this info so that they can alert their businesses and pharmacies that this could be a pattern or trend that's happening," explains Oregon Police Chief Doug Petit.

A similar situation happened December 2 at the Hometown Pharmacy in Verona, but the robber wanted OxyContin, Vicodin and Percocet.

Madison Area Crime Stoppers is offering up to a $1,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest of the person responsible for that incident.

The suspect in the Oregon robbery is described as a white male, 5'9" to 5'10", weighing 165?170 pounds.

He is in his early to mid 20s and was last seen wearing a white baseball cap with a white colored cursive "M" on the front and a dark jacket with a large silver "M" on it.
