I support concealed carry. 48 states in our beautiful country support concealed carry in some form or another. But not our Governor. Doyle says we have to advertise we have a weapon by wearing it in the open, which is a serious tactical error. No, he'd rather give the advantage to the criminals.

Funny the attempted break in at a retail store on Zeir Rd isnt mentioned here. The break in was attempted at 130 this morning and the MPD were dispatched but chose not to go to the sight. The poor employee had to find the window busted out with a cinder block at 9am when she arrived to open the store......hhmmmm the descriptions of these men seem oddly familiar...perhaps the murders that murdered Marcus (POLO) Hamilton on Sunday. Way to go MPD!!!! Looks as though ur really on top of your game!!

I agree with all anon. entries so far, and I agree with Jamie that concealed carry should be allowed. This surge in robberies, murders and rapes in Madison is outrageous. We should all be allowed to carry pepper spray and handguns to defend ourselves. With all the crime in Madison, the UW is OFF the short list of schools for my three daughters!

I completely agree with anonymous from 12:34pm. I am a white man, and I think what she said we should all take to heart no matter what race you are. I think you sound like a very smart woman. I hope you are in the position of influence. I wish there were more people like you.

This is sad to read about these crimes. It seems to me that these are becoming more common in the Madison area. I don't know what the answer is to the problem, but I do know I'm sick of this stuff happening here. Somehow folks have to take back the town.

As a black woman, I think that the black community needs to take control of what black parents are teaching our kids! Nobody is going to help us but ourselves. That is the lesson that history has taught us.

I think with the status of the economy the way it is (high gas, food, utilities) and with no end in sight, this is going to be taking place more and more. While I know some of these instances may just be "random acts of violence", if people cannot afford for basic necessities to survive, they will resort to other methods to obtain them. Not saying it is justifiable, but could be a sign of things to come!
