We were friends since grade school, and we had a reunion in China just last summer.. Well I am at least glad to know that people found him a nice guy like I did. Anyway someone knew that he stayed at his half-sister's place? Care to shed a little more light? Right now I know next to nothing about what happened and that really bugs me. Can't really ask his family right now, obviously..

I knew him since last semester we both lived in Witte Hall. He was such a great person. Rest in peace, miss you forever man.

I lived kiddy corner from him in the dorm this past year, and was supposed to have lunch with him on Monday. My prayers go out to his family and friends for their loss.

rip. wonder what natural cause killed him. must of been a ongoing problem or something i would think. just sad to see some one so young die. bless his family and friends.

People this is a 19 y/o that has died. His family, his friends, have lost someone dear to them. If all of you want to bicker please have some respect and do it elsewhere. The family and friends do not need to read the garbage that is being put out there. Yes, there is freedom of speech, but come on people there is also a thing called respect. My thoughts go out to the family and friends in dealing with their sudden loss.

Here's freedom of speech. What a bunch of idiots.

I am very sorry for the loss of a fellow UW student. My thoughts are with his family and friends at this time. Let's not play 'arm-chair medical examiners' here and try to diagnose people over the internet. Whatever he died of, let's let the officials figure it out.

To Anonymous on Jul 7, 2008 at 07:04 PM "freedom of speech can't be carried to everything and it can also carry consequences" hmm..sounds like vague liberal malarky to me.. My condolences to the family of this student.

Anon at 3:15 needs to just outright shut up. And then needs to keep his or her mouth shut while other people post their comments.

I guess the thing that makes me so sad is that the deceased was 19 years old. So many kids these days are dying from natural causes at such young ages- like the student that died of cardiac problems at a marathon- it just breaks my heart that kids trying to do something worthwhile like going to college are taken so early by the universe, and other people who contribute nothing to society - like murdering drunk drivers like Samantha Young, who killed a UW-Whitewater professor- seem to live forever.

great here we go with the freedom of speech again. Hey lisa, last time I checked, an owner of a publication/website can filter, edit, or deny anything on their website as they see fit. freedom of speech can't be carried to everything and it can also carry consequences... You obviously have no idea what you are talking about. Keep spewing your garbage though...

I don't know what's wrong with questioning if this could be an overdose. Sorry but you don't often see a student die of a heart attack; sadly, overdose (of prescription drugs, illegal drugs, alcohol) is a common cause of death among college students.

Hey anon at 3:15p.m. When you refer to a jerk, maybe you would kindly look into a mirror. I read some other posts where you were rattling off at the mouth. (your wording is very simialr!) Obviously people do have opinions, and with some peoples opinions it may be an issue they themselves personally have gone through. However your mentality speaks for itself.

Posted by: Anon on Jul 7, 2008 at 03:15 PM
For lisa and anon 2:48 PM. First lets start with Lisa. I do agree with you that that everyone has a right to freedom of speech. But do it in a proper manner! This for Anon 2:48 PM. Goodness man, what is wrong with you sounds like you have some anger management problems, relax! I just read your comments you sound like a jerk, if your going to act like a child then sit down and shut up!!! Grow up man!

To Anonymous on Jul 7, 2008 at 12:07 PM That person had the right to their opinion just like you have the right to yours, last I checked freedom of speech still exists in this country. Yes, the comment may have been unnecessary, but they do have the right to say it. It is not NBC15's purpose here to make that judgement.

..... the student died in my half-sister's appartment. but she was not there the whole time.... she seems to go to pieces now.

Posted by: Anonymous on Jul 7, 2008 at 12:07 PM
I wish that someone would review these a bit closer before posting the statement below at 9:47AM. For all you know, it could be a heart attack or one of a thousand different things that can cause this. I hope you are not insuing that all UW-Madison students use, are you? That is just plain rude to say when so little is known about the situation.
