Fire Devastates a DeForest Business

Read the release from the Dane County Sheriff's Department regarding the structure fire in the Town of Vienna.

At 10:32 p.m., Dane County Sheriff’s Deputies, along with Arlington, Dane, Deforest, Middleton, Sun Prairie and Waunakee Fire Departments responded to a structure fire at 7235 Gene Street, in the Town of Vienna.
The structure, which houses Pomp’s Service Center, Bridgestone Tires and Decleene Truck Refrigeration, was fully engulfed when Deputies’ arrived on scene. Two employees of Decleene Truck Refrigeration were working on a trailer with a torch, when a portion of the trailer caught on fire. The employees were unable to contain the fire at which time they evacuated the building. No injuries were reported. The portion of the building housing Decleene Truck Refrigeration appears to be a total loss estimated at approximately one million dollars. The portion of the building housing Pomp’s Service Center and Bridgestone Tires suffered only minor damage.
