UPDATED: Monday, August 18, 2008 --- 9:53 p.m.

A fire in a UW campus building sends heavy smoke through the fourth floor.

It started in the Medical Sciences Building on Charter Street near Linden Drive.

Madison Fire spokesman Eric Dahl says a call was made for fire, but the hazardous materials team was brought in after doors to the area which contained the fire indicated radioactive material was inside.

Dahl says no one was injured in the fire and that it went out quickly.

Dahl also says no one was on the third floor at time of the fire, but there were people on the first floor who may not have evacuated the building properly.

Updates to this situation will be found here on nbc15.com and during the news after the Olympics Coverage.
