Incident Report from Madison Police Department:

Officers were dispatched to MV/Motorcycle with injuries (at E. Washington Av/Zeier Rd). Upon arrival they noted an SUV parked on top of a motorcycle. The operator SUV fled on foot. The operator of the motorcycle received serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The operator of the SUV was arrested nearby.

Victim:
Jason A. Hogan, 32 years old, Madison,
Injuries: Serious, but non life-threatening.

Suspect:
Jose Carlos Perez-Mendez, M/H, 01-26-1987, Madison
Charges: Injury by Intoxicated Use of a Motor Vehicle

hey thats like my "2nd uncle" that every ones talking about. and i agree with my aunt and mom, you know sheila and jenny.....how could you do this to somebody??? wow you dont have a heart at all. you dereve to be be in prison the rest of your life. and you dont need to ruin someones life and dragg them across the road and just leave and run away. we are so lucky that he had his helmet on or hed b dead all cause of you. why dont someone run over you so you can can break your ribs and be in alot of pain, then your would know how he feels. just cause you dont have a life doesnt mean you could ruin someone elses. okayy so have fun in prison!!!!

One of these days, I am just hoping that one of these butt holes that runs from an accident, like those kids that rear ended that car making a left turn, or this guy, is running away on foot, and gets hit by a drunk driver who couldn't stop fast enough! that would be karmic justice!

Somebody ought to just start lining up all these damn drunk drivers, side by side, alongside the roadsides leading away from the bars, and let their fellow drunk drivers plow them over as pennance!

Jose, how could you get drunk, get into your vehicle, recklessly hit my brother, drag him with your vehicle & then just get out of your vehicle & run away? You are an evil monster who has no soul! You have no idea what you have done to our family! My brother is one of the strongest, kindest, gentlest souls to ever walk the face of the earth & my family & I are so BLESSED to have him in our lives! You must not know what love is. If I'm not mistaken, there's also a D.O.T camera at continental and E. wash... wonder if they caught it on tape, and if his attorny can use the footage for the case. who cares if he's illegal or not- he's a butt hole and needs to be removed from the gene pool, and the face of this earth! take him to africa and use him to feed starving lions or something, or an animal rescue in america with large cats/ predators! let him serve a purpose for the good of society- use him as food at the zoo! everybody likes the zoo, and it is free, so help them keep it free by reducing the cost of meat by giving them all these dumb ass drunk drivers!

He is doing alright. Still in the hospital with a smashed arm and broken ribs. And yes Deanna his left side does hurt alot.

I was there. I was in back of you for awhile, then - we were side by side on Hwy 151. We were not speeding. The Green light was green for awhile. The black SUV came across the lanes very fast. I saw your body fly into the air and hit the roof, hood and roll down the front bumper of the black SUV. It seemed like it went on for a long time, You and the SUV ended up many yards from the intial hit. It seemed like his SUV did not want to stop. I was in the little black car. You left side must hurt alot. If you need a witness, I remember it all. Deanna

Two changes would help lower the repeat drunk driving: 1)mandatory insurance in order to license a vehicle; 2) suspension of VEHICLE REGISTRATION for drunk driving (not drivers license - take their license PLATES!)

I have NO tolerance for drunk drivers, I think the death penalty should be an option for punishment when they do things like that. However, just because the guy has a Spanish last name does not mean he does not speak English, he may or he may not. I have a German name and I do not speak Garman and I hate it when people assume I do. And yes, I also feel that anyone living in the US should speak English, in other countries no one expects to call a state or Goverment agency and get a rep who speaks Spanish or hmong or whatever language it is

Too bad the Madison boys in blue didn't have to pop a cap or two in his butt! one less drunk driver in the system, one less repeat offender on the roads! You're right gang, drunk drivers aren't going to learn until the penalties make the risk too great to mess with. Make it a $10,000 first offense felony fine, and felony record, and watch some sober drivers hit the roads! either that, or officers will have to go back to the "good old days" of big city police work in the movies where cops carried "drop pieces" so when they shot someone, they could drop a gun, and say "look, he drew on me so I had to fire!" Yeah buddy, that'll clear up them streets when drunk drivers start getting shot!
